is there something wrong with the sas cable or the sas backplane of the Norco case? the picture showed a very poor disk performance from it. The left one is using SAS and the right one is using SATA out of motherboard.

Looks more like the difference between the two controllers LSI vs Intel than it does the backplane.

Perhaps the Intel is doing write caching and that's why the write is so much higher.

The numbers advertised by Samsung are more than likely using Samsung Magician or ATTO.

I have a new Norco 4220 and Samsung 840 Pro 256MB and Samsung Magician and ATTO show higher numbers than AS-SSD which uses compressed data for testing.

Check the LSI Controller using megacli for errors on the PHY or downlink speed events! Make sure the raid controller is enabling the SSD 840 pro drive write cache!
