Seeking advise on hardware for pfsense. I'm thinking of getting

cheap ASRock MB
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
1x 16GB stick of Samsung 16GB UDIMM ECC RAM
2x256GB NVMe software raid 1

NIC:
2x Solarflare SF432-1012
or 2x Broadcom 57810S

Is this too much of an overkill? I've read some posts saying you need high frenzency CPU to utilize the full 10Gb speeds. I really don't want that to be the bottleneck as I may end up moving this into a colo host possibly with 10G speeds.

Also what's the main benefits of getting two NICs instead of one?

It's either pfsense or using a Brocade ICX6610, pfsense seems easier and possibly more reliable as I have already had one switch fail on me (2nd hand off ebay).

I just picked up the HP T740 and put a Dual Mallenox CX-3 card in it. Installed pfsense. My 2.5gig fiber internet works at line rate just fine. I also get the full 2.5gig bandwidth running a wireguard VPN tunnel on the HP T740.
Not sure how it would fair at 10gig, but success so far at 2.5gig anyways.
