Hello everybody,

I'm having a problem getting my new mainboard to boot. I recently bought a Supermicro A2SDi-H-TP4F and 4x RAM bars (64 Crucial RDIMM reg ECC RAM). After I installed everything I tried to boot it but I won't even past POST. I'm stuck at the Supermicro-Screen with the following message:

PEI--Intel MRC Execution 62

After a few minutes it changes to 61 and after anohter few minutes it changes to 63. I later found out, that this may be becuase my RAM is not supported by Supermicro (according to their product page) but I thought it might not be a deal breaker since the last time I used unsupported RAM it worked just fine (it was 4x 32 GB of Kingston RAM).

Now I wanted to know, did someone had the same error and maybe can tell if this is due to something else or also had this error due to an unsupported RAM and knows a workaround?

no chance. the Rank size of 64GB modules is too high.
i.e. 64GB 2Rx4 does NOT work on 1st Gen scalable but on 2nd Gen.

2Rx4 is like two modules in one.
64GB 2Rx4 is 32GB per Rank.
64GB 4Rx4 is 16GB per Rank

Okay, so according to their support page, their mainboard supports Up to 256GB ECC RDIMM, DDR4-2400MHz, how would you be able to do that with "only" 4 ram slots?

When looking for M386A8K40BM2, I only find LRDIMMs. Is this the same and will they work since the product page only mentions RDIMMs?

correct, real quad Rank RDIMM are rare. please ask supermicro because:
by the fact SM does not have 64GB modules in they're tested Memory list.

ok. found only one tested 64GB module in supermicro's list
MEM-DR464MC-ER29
is 64GB 2Rx8 <- dual Ranked but 8 bits, that is important.
if the Modules use 4 bit wide chips 64GB dual Rank will not work. strange.

false information at a seller page.
now i am confused.
please ask supermicro for clarifying.

Sorry, but are you trying to tell me, that a bios update might fix my booting problem or did i understand you wrong?

yes, try that first because:
if the data on the supermicro page is correct your 64GB modules have to work too.

Alright I will try to update the bios later since I have to leave. But thank you anyway for your help.
Last question tho - the Ram form the picture you sent has another speed. Would that matter?

had you tested with only one 64GB DIMM ?
can take 3 minutes for DDR4 training and RAMtest in the MRC-POST phase(only if size or RAM changed)
