    Hi,

If you have a "8x physical slot" connected to the processor with "4x PCIe 3.0 lanes"

Now, if you put a "8x PCIe 2.0" card inside it, how it would be bounded ?
    - 4x PCIe 2.0 (it use the 4 lanes availables but downgraded to 2.0 speed)
    - 8x PCIe 2.0 (it emulate 8 lanes PCIe 2 from the 4 lanes PCIe 3)

I think the second solution is really improbable, since i think the 4 last lanes on the physical slot were not connected at all electrically...

Can you confirm my supposition ?

It would be really awesome if the second solution is possible... but i think is a dream.

The card will run with 4x pcie 2 speed.
