I've tried googling this already but I must be searching for the wrong things.

I'm trying to get functionality like Google Drive and others where I make a direct link that people can use to access a file I uploaded.

There's a direct link, but it says it is only for authorized users. I want to let people download the file without creating an account. Is there a way to do this?

Public direct sharing is built into NC thus you don't any additional apps for that. Click on the sharing icon and among the left menu that appear, you should see an option "Share link" and click on "Enable" to create the link. After that click on ... and choose "Copy URL" or "Share to Email". There are other options too :)

Thanks! I missed a permission in settings which meant I didn't see the link.
