I would bevery difficult to use half depth chassis and achive 12 spindles per U..., and not possible with front mount bays...

If you plan on getting front mounted 3.5 spindles; your max is 4 driver per U

Ah, yes, you're correct 4 for a 1U, 2U can get 12 drives, 3U 18, 4U 24 etc for 3.5"s
