I wonder if they add anything else like more sata to also match the c3000.
Some lower TDP and power consumption maybe with the probably new 14nm+ process being used I would hope.

Not coming till midyear. Last time they were way late. I was just about to buy a v1 xeon-d. I don't need 4x 10g, but quick assist might be good.

I really see these as a play for two markets edge security devices (IPS/NGFW's) and advanced storage appliances that are doing a fair amount of processing on the CPUs. Might out be an interesting play for scaling out hypervisors as well (assuming you have the extra switch ports laying around).
