Thanks. I wish I had your post before my painful search. In the MM designation, the first M stands for multi level cells, and the 2nd M for mainstream endurance (10DW/D for this model). In the designation of MH, the H stands for high endurance (e.g. 25DW/D).

"Best Deals" on Intel Enterprise SSd. S3500, S3700 mainly. Sometimes deals on s3610 and s3710 too. Prices are up a good amount now compared to last 6month+

Thanks. Am I correct in assuming that with the boot drive the write endurance is not usually an issue, at least with enterprise class drives? What size drive is usually used? Also, if a larger size is used, can the excess space be used for other purposes than the OS?

I have some bare metal systems that are single SSD, so they may have the OS/Boot + running other stuff... not highest performing, safest, etc, but it works just fine.

Can also use Intel 320 and Intel 710 -- normally very affordable, and reliable. I'll often go that route vs USB stick if I can.
