Hi,

Does anyone know if Netapp cluster mode switches can just be used as general standalone 10Gbe switches? Specifically, the CN1610 NAE-1101 models.

Am looking for a 10Gbe managed switch with at least 16 ports for a homelab, and I've found some of these for sale pretty nicely priced.

Thanks for any help,

Cam

A quick google search shows that these switches run a version of broadcoms fastpath, I think for simple l2 switching it will be enough.
For 3rd party cable and transceiver compatibility I think it will be limited to netapp stuff...
