Hi
Since I ask somewhere elese there nobody replay I hope someone here have a good idea.
I want install Proxmox on my Server maybe the special HW get support there better but I have Machines who need to run 24/7 before I do a fresh install on Proxmox. So I install an Gen 7 ESXi who also run on my Server who is an Shuttle who was intend to be a "Mini Server" to. Thankfully ESXi seem to work 1:1 as on my Huawei Server.
Here are both CPU:
32 CPUs x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2683 v4 @ 2.10GHz
4 CPUs x Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600T CPU @ 2.70GHz
Can I move a Virtual Machine from my Huawei to my NAS and from my NAS to the Shuttle?
If yes how?
Thanks!

You want to move from esxi to proxmox?
I think proxmox has tools that can convert esxi machines to the format required for proxmox
No recommendation?
This is a forum not a support desk/chat ._.
It's possible that in 3 years from now somebody might answer your thread...

You want to move from esxi to proxmox?
Yes and no. Longterm Yes but I will install everything from scratch.
Now I need to move all the VM vom the "big" Server to the (non HP) "Micro Server" to install Proxmox on the big one.
But how to move a Machine and does it work do to the different CPU and so one?
With so much People I guess someone here did that before and have an good idea.
Thanks

If you don't need the vms to be online then you shut them all down, copy the directories containing the vm files to another host (your pc) and import the vms on the new host (your pc). During the import you should get asked if you copied (then esxi will create a new mac address for that vm) or moved the vms (esxi will keep the mac address)

Edit:
Different cpus don't matter as long as you don't need live migration and you use the same hardware level for the vms
