Hi,
i have some older 4GB SATA-DOMS that use molex power connectors. SM CSE-826 has some free molex (used to connect/give power to backplane) close to the power distributor unit, it's too far away from SATA ports on the motherboard, Tyan S7012.
Should i get a Molex extension or is there a way of using the GPU 4-pin power with an adapter or something?

You're talking about the older type 4-pin power connector, right? Those deliver 5V and 12V, so the GPU connector probably won't work. I think those are 12V only. I would use an extension from the existing plug. A DOM is going to use very little power, so you should be fine even with the thin cheap ones.

Hi, yeah it's the old 4-pin power connector.
Now what i realize is that by removing some strips from the cables from the PDU i can actually use the longest one to reach the SATA DOM connector cable, and still use the others to connect to backplane :)
