Everything I've read folks advised against Mixing the two. I'm using Snapraid on W10 Pro so does it really still apply to these software raid-type setups? I've got an SAS2 Backplane in a SM 846 24 Bay chassis on aHP220 card in IT Mode. I ask because if i can't find more SATAs at a good price I may need to get the SAS ones. I need MOAR storage.

Same story, but using unRAID. how did it go for you?
DId u end up mixing the drives? is it working ok?
ended up doing all SATAs. 12TB SATA are starting to appear on Ebay so I've got a couple of those and about 10 TB Drives.
