Anyone know if something like this would fit/work? Guessing it may not fit however still waiting on my pre-order so if someone could confirm if there's any space above the m2 slots to work with that'd be great, tia

This would block the storage fan and you probably would not be able to put the case on, it would be close.

hello guys, I'm new to the forum.

I have two questions :
- is there any Chinese speaking owners who could explain to me where to get the vBios file used by this Chinese reviewer
to passthrough the whole iGPU to a Windows VM (timestamp : 22:07), and what did he flash in uefi (timestamp : 20:05) ?
- has anybody tried an FC HBA that work with the MS-01, I only have LPE16002 (Fujitsu OEM dual 16Gb) blank screen no POST ?

I've got a Sabrent Rocket 4 4tb in the pcie 3.0x2 m.2 slot. Its a double-sided device and works fine. Its not really under much stress so temps are not an issue. Not sure what it would do under load. I did not install any heatsink. It sits right right under the SSD fan but doesn't really get much airflow from it.

I think their disclaimer about double-sided m.2 may have to do with 110mm devices as they would surely press tightly against the 80mm screw terminal.
Ugh. What’s the point of having 22110 then? They are only that long because they have so many components that they maxed out both sides and need the extra length for more. ‍‍

Hoping the limitation isn’t a blocker and I can just stick some Optane 905P M.2 SSDs there. They’re the only high-capacity Optanes which aren’t U.2.

Guys, ran into an odd situation that could be related to UEFI BIOS or boot trouble with ZFS filesystem. Need help...

Installed Proxmox on newly arrived U.2 NVME with ZFS and upon boot I see this error.

Failed to flush random seed file: Time out
Error opening root path: Time out

Secure boot is disabled and so is TPM. Further, if I install PVE host and pick EXT on the same U.2, no problem. I have other machine with PVE host boot off of ZFS and it was never a problem. Anybody?

I'm having some horrible heat issues. I'm not sure what I should change. My cpu is some times hovering at 82-85C. Did anyone else run into this?

My CPU temp sits in the mid to high 80s whenever it's working hard, then drops down to low 50s. If it's been sitting idle for a long time then it's at 38C. Quite interested to see if anyone has a different experience.

I haven't worried overly, since the system as a whole isn't overheating or anything - my video card is right next door and I have an SSD underneath & they never even get warm.

Edit:
Also, the jump to 88C is instant when there is any CPU load.

See my post on previous page. When running memtest my temp reached 91 celsius

You can try to change the thermal paste ... i will either way change the thermal paste with Noctua NT-H2 where i get great results everywhere. I buy new laptops and the 1st thing i do is that.

Also guys, anyone from Europe who received tracking number from minisforum in Germany, have the box went to DHL? the tracking is only saying that DHL has only received the info.. nothing moved yet after some days.

They didn't use liquid metal on MS-01 then?

For those of you with Nvidia a2000 someone created a single slot heatsink/fan.

a4000

He should be releasing soon.

I will be interesting to see if there are any temp differences re pasting or liquid metal.

I looked at how the heatsink is mounted here are some pictures.

Screenshot 2024-02-22 213328.png

There is two other screws covered up by the heatsink cover

Screenshot 2024-02-22 213707.png

The cover has adhesive that you can peel

Screenshot 2024-02-22 213618.png

Don't know if it is better to find the other mount holes and puncture the cover or peel the cover every time.
