I guess that begs the question, if the prices came down but kept their same distance would the suggestion be the same? I'm fairly partial to RouterOS over SwitchOS(all of my mikrotik gear to date is RB or CRS line) and might stick with the CRS326 just for consistency on my end...

Same price I would get the CRS since you get the serial port and can use either.

In this segment, I agree with Rohit that price and ports are pretty important.

My thoughts as well(also multilink is around the corner so local mikrotik supplier ftw it's where I bought my CRS328)

I went with the CSS unit to replace a 24-port edgeswitch, since I wanted the 2 SFP+ ports (my home lab has 2 ESXi hosts with 520 10gb nics). It's been perfect so far. Hard to beat the price. I didn't need any fancy features - just needed a VLAN to isolate pacemaker corosync totem traffic...

I was surprised that you do not mention the fact that SwitchOS only supports http, not even https. That ssh is missing is ok, but no https is a big issue in my opinion....
