Hello, i bought some MCX455A-ECA and installed into my poweredge r640 servers, i would like to use it as vsan connectivity but seems that the esxi driver not loaded.... i checked the VMware Compatibility Guide and the card is comaptible with esxi 8.0 U2..... i checked the firmware version too, my cards have same version as suggested by VMware (https://www.vmware.com/resources/co..._interval=10&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc). I forgot to say, my cards are Mellanox not rebranded card...... nder Hardware in the esxi web interface, it is displayed as follows "ConnectX-4 VPI NIC; EDR/100GbE; single-port QSFP28; (MCX455A-ECA)"
Some advice ? Thanks

google "mellanox firmware tools for esxi", look for nvidia documentation for mlxconfig and Bob's your uncle.

thank you so much.... but i have another problem.... installed the 2 vibs nmst-4.26.0.93-1OEM.802.0.0.22203803.x86_64.vib and mft-4.26.0.93-10EM-820.0.0.22203803.x86_64.vib for esxi 8u2 and restarted the esxi server. Seems that the module mst not loaded from esxi... infact after reboot if i run:

[root@esxi:/opt/mellanox/bin] /opt/mellanox/bin/mst start
-E- Failed to load mst. Got error:
vmkmod: VMKModLoad: VMKernel_LoadKernelModule(nmst): Unresolved symbol
Cannot load module nmst: Unresolved symbol

and if i try to load manually the module im getting:

[root@esxi:~] vmkload_mod mst
vmkmod: VMKModCheckMod: Access to file /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/mst failed: Not found
vmkmod: VMKMod_Load: VMKMod_ComputeModPath(mst) failed: Not found
Cannot load module mst: not found

Any advice ?
Thanks

idk maybe something is missing in your ESXi install. It works for me on a clean install of the latest version of ESXi8 U2.

You could live boot ubuntu or debian, then install mst and do the config from there instead too.
