    These cards usually run around $35 or so now. Still, a decent price. I have yet to figure out cabling though. May post a question on the network threads.

    The HP / Oracle MCX354A (non pro version) can be had for $20-25 all day long and plenty in supply. The ones I linked in my OP are the Pro version and usually list for $90.

    Ah, I see! Thanks for that correction my friend, I didnt realize. Whats the feature difference between the 2? I confess I don't know too much about the 40Gb Mellanox cards as I did with the 10Gb ones.

    another pro for the pro version: it's supported for a longer time than the regular card

    if you wont to dig in the hyperconvergent architecture like microsoft storage space direct (even if also work with rocev1) and (if i recall correctly) nutanix ce, so yes.

    netapp sas qsfp cables are cheap, and works just fine

    Also supports acceleration for VXLAN, and perhaps a couple other protocols, I forget.

    Picked up 5 of them. Thanks for the heads up!
