I'm swapping to the ultra SFF mini PC for my home lab, and home server. I'm not familiar with m2 drives for VMs outside of the Optane 58\118Gb drives which I love :) but sadly are very hard to find and very expensive now.

What are the "GO TO" server m2 drives? I don't need top-tier performance like optane for these, but I also don't want a drive that will slow to 10Mb\s after 15 months either.... Ideally MLC if I had a choice :)

What consumer drives are good for this, any?
What about enterprise\datacenter drives, any?

If you can fit 22110 M.2 drives then perhaps the Samsung SM953? For 2280 Micron made a couple models like the 7300 and 7400.

from cheap, to expensive
micron 3400 - micron 7400
seagate nytro 4350 - 5000
*(keep in mind both have 'write endurance optimized, and 'read endurance optimized')
