So our RAID woes are really on a roll this month. After losing an adaptec controller in our SAN, the LSI9260 in our film scanner just died on me. It had been pretty flaky for the past few days so we've been copying stuff off of it. But when I booted up the machine just now, the card isn't recognized in POST, so i think it was slowly creeping towards death this past week.
I need to finish getting stuff of of the RAID and have a few other LSI cards here:
2x LSI 9240-8i
1x LSI 8708EM2
All three cards have 2 SAS ports. The RAID in question is pretty simple - it's just RAID 0, a scratch disk for film capture before the files are moved off onto other drives. Basically, I just need to get at it.
Will any of these work as drop-ins? Do I run a risk of damaging the array? I'm fairly certain this will just work.
