Guys, I'm looking to get a SAS3 HBA and need some advice. Providing I don't need RAID, which one is a better choice, Dell H330 or Adaptec ASR-8405? Prices seem to be almost the same and within my allotted budget. Or perhaps there's something else I should look at? I am pretty much a noob when it comes to these adapters so any advice is appreciated.

I have 12GB sas adapter from both vendors and both works well. However I think as far as compatibility goes the LSI base chipset is much better than adaptec. Both run super hot and performance is pretty much on par when I compared them. So I guess the answer is depended on which os you use and which brand loyalty do you subscribed to
