LSi 9201-8i, how do I confirm IT mode?

Hey guys,

Just got my hands on this card (LSi 9201-8i) for cheap, but before I go installing it on my server, how do I confirm that it's running in IT mode?

I've searched, but I cannot find a definitive guide on how to do so.

Check the firmware version string. If it ends in "IT" then it is in IT mode. If it ends in "IR" then it is in raid mode.

Note that the 9201 comes from the factory with IT mode firmware. The 9211 comes default with IR.

Does anyone know if you can flash the firmware on 9201 with a 9211 most recent firmware ?
Does firmware revision on this card affect performance ??

The 9201 has no NVRAM so cannot run RAID at all.
When you try to flash an IR mode FW an error will come up

9201 should have the same IT version that the 9211 has
