Is this a good deal? 400GB 6Gbps SAS SSD $120

XceedStor 400GB 2.5" SATA 6GB/s Enterprise SSD TG321C

The picture indicates that it is a EMC part so anyone know if it will work on a PowerEdge T320 with PERC H710 in RAID 6? Thinking of getting six of them. Do I need to worry about the 520 byte sector issue?

i'm willing to bite, what are the chances it will work on a non-emc system, i.e is it firmware locked, anyone know?

Odds are it is not fw locked and it should work but formatted in 520 block which u will have to SG_format

I have done emc netapp fw devices and all that ever stopped me was the 520 block

according to the listing the seller says he formatted it in ubuntu, but the price per gig isn't worth the risk so i am passing

So I got one of these, price dropped to $105 now. I think the seller pre-formatted it to 512B sectors as it works on Windows out of the box.

It's nothing special, decent sequential speeds but 4KB random IO only nets like 30MB/s. Not sure if that's really good. But according to the tech specs it's supposed to have ~700TB write endurance so maybe it offsets.
