Anyone have any experiencing using the Intel RSP3WD080E card as HBA or JBOD? Debating on if I should purchase this or the Lenovo 530-8i.

what are your needs?
12gbps? or 6gbps? only hba? or maybe also hw-raid support for future? requiered to be LSI chipset?
otherwise check adaptec site: starting from serie 7 chipset adaptec cards could be used as hba, or as hw-raid. configurable in card-bios

Right now just building a home server with 8-16 drives sata 3 drives. But just thinking of future proofing a bit.
for sata-3 hdd you only need sas-2 or 6gbps card. to be future-proof you could choose 12gbps card. adaptec 8 series support 12gbps.
