a database server for eccommerce website. on the test system it takea up 34gB DISK. there is 128gb ddr4. all on fcbga 1667 chipset, 8c d1541. it will be migrated to the e5 server as soon. the price range for drives is 600-800 us.

do i choose one 1tb p4500 or 5-6 intel p3100 256gb. a major turn off from the p3100 is no PLP.....even if it is a"dc" drive from intel. do i go with 3 256gb pm863 or kc400 or dc500 from micron or maybe even two 450gb p3520's.
or 8wd gold 1tb or 5-6 wd gold 2tb hdd

all options would be at raid 10. and the server is on a 10gb network. the nas and back up (more an overflow server) server are connect via 10gb spf. i

If you want to use raid 10/SAME you will neet at least 4 devices. Also you don't want to put data at risk in a production enviorement. This will eliminate most of your listed options and leave you with the hdds.

Do you want to use new devices or would be refurbished/used devices okay? (Looking at cheap iodrives)
