Intel Core i7-6850K is 329 dollars, in the store. 30 dollars off (299) for their in store motherboard bundle price.

Amazon is 448 dollars, 460 at NE.

Found monoprice is still aggressively pricing intel SKUs on ebay 369 dollars.

Good price for an interesting processor but not sure those extra and slower cores really do anything for the consumer high end gaming segment and many more cores can be had in a used E5 if the workload is very parallel. I suppose it would be a good processor for a host for multiple Factorio games!

The V3 Xeons still have great turbo speed when you only use half of the cores, dont forget that. And that base clock speed, is only relevant when you use all cores for AVX2 operations. For normal use with all cores you will still be on turbo speed.
