I assume cold air is pushed from the top down since the raised floor didn't have perf tiles?

Y'know, SuperMicro isn't the only company that's part of this cluster. I can only assume SM was the only one* to pay for the marketing? :p

It may have been availability of systems too, with dell you often have to wait for months for new hardware or certain hardware configurations - often lacking the customizing portion for your design i.e. lets say water system.
(// like xe9680 box designed so pcie ports are in front ~ and more of an air platform)

Yes, that's true. Though I am pretty sure there is a ton of hardware already in place. I am sure there is much more waiting to go in and much more to the story. I, being just a stranger on the Internet, can only just speculate, of course.

Regardless we can all easily agree Grok is indeed massive and impressive. I am sure it's physical footprint will only continue to grow.

We were only allowed to show NVIDIA and Supermicro. At the same time, the SM part is the more advanced part just because of the liquid cooled box.

Completely true, the liquid cooling is indeed very cool.

Permission not granted or not asked? Just curious. No need to answer if that's not a point up for discussion of course. The focus on the liquid cooling is... cooler anyway.

so there are other vendors there? Interesting.
I would say the chances are... Very likely... Indeed.

Not granted by xAI
Did they provide any specific reason? If not I would assume it's just that they wanted to show off the massive liquid cooling effort more than anything. Nothing nefarious or anything obviously. I just wonder what politics are at play. All way above my pay grade regardless.

The customer is always right! As they say.
