I would recommend using Mellanox ConnectX NIC cards, have used their connectX-2, cheap and reliable. The whole 10G layout including the 10G mellanox SFP+ NICs from ebay, SFP+ SR/DACs , and fiber patch cables from fs saves me a lot of money.
