I am looking at upgrading to a new HP AMD Server. I like AMD EPYC Rome and am very interested in the article of the Proliant DL325 Gen 10.

https://www.servethehome.com/hpe-pr...02-power/hpe-proliant-dl325-gen10-sata-ports/

My question is about ram
Hp # P19041-B21 prices range from $750 - $1100 for 32 GB (This says compatible with DL325)

I have found HP# P00924-B21 for around $250-$300 for 32 GB. (DL325 is not listed)

From what I can tell all the timings and the speeds are the same. Does this seem wrong? Could I buy ram from someone else like crucial or kingston and just make sure it is Registered and the same speed?

With EPYC you've gotta be careful. If you use the wrong rank it'll drop clocks even with 1dpc. We ordered some samsungs and they worked but dropped speeds. HPE will nag you if you don't have Smart Memory from them.
