Hi all,

new to the forum and first post.

I bought an N54L a while back and finally got round to sorting it. after a hard boot of the server the raid failed and which I discovered is the worlds worst raid, so I'm looking to upgrade to a hardware controller.

my question is has anyone put an P212 in to an N54L and did it work ok?

I'm only looking for a raid 1 so nothing too special.

Curious how the onboard B110i failed... it is the HP SA raidstack on top of the amd chipset... Anyhow... Yes a P212 will work though its a bit hard to cram in there... You will have to snip the ziptie holds on the minisas cable.

If you are not limited to Windows you can just use the Sata ports in AHCI mode and add a superiour ZFS software raid.

I run a P410/256 in my N40L. Just had to snip the zip tie and it is kinda hard to plug the cable in, but it works. Next will be a BBU which should be fun to find room for.

as long as you put HP product on microserver, you HP raid card should works!
tested N40L 3 years ago with P410 and P2XX(do not remember the exact model).
