Hi,

I have an HP Elitedesk 800 G4 (also got an G5) with 2 NvMEs (Proxmox ZFS mirror), I've noticed that the NvME sometimes get very hot, and the performance drop.

How do other people running these things with 2 NvMEs keep them cool ?

Thanks.

You can buy the drive tray fan. e.g.

Or I've used a block of aluminium screwed onto the top of the case, with a thin thermal pad on top of the nvme chips to make a good connection.

Very cheap. But you have to be very careful how you slide the case on.

I got my first block out of an old wifi controller, but last time I needed one I asked a local window installer if they had any aluminium offcuts the thickness I needed & was given some for free - the owner even got one of his guys to skillsaw them to size for me. And thermal pads are $2 per 100 on AliExpress.

Interesting, currently I have 80mm USB fans blowing at the front - which does help a bit.

The alu block solution sounds like a good way to start, I will see if I can source something around here - otherwise I'll try with the drive tray fan.

Thanks.
