Hi All,
As a new owner of an HP G7 for my homelab I'm now painfully aware of how picky that system is when it comes to PCIe cards. Putting my HP brand Mellaonx 10G card in still ramps the fans up, though not as much as when it's in the PCIe 16x slot.
My thought was buying an officially-supported 10G card (as in one of the models listed in the HP documentation for the G7) will prevent the system from ramping up the fans and keep it humming along nice and quiet. Can anyone confirm this is the case?
Specifically, I'm looking at getting a HP 581201-B21 NC550SFP, which according to this is supported by the DL370 G7.
Thanks!
