HP-DL360 G9. Does this server accept SAS or SATA drives?

I was considering getting the following server:

HP DL360 G9 24-Core Server 2x E5-2680 v3 2.5GHz 128GB-16 H240ar RPS | eBay

Does this accept SATA drives? The interface says:

"HP Smart HBA H240ar 12Gb SAS / 6Gb SATA (RAID 0, 1, 5)" Does that mean it can take both?

Since SATA drives seem to be considerably cheaper than SATA drives.

It will take either, but obviously the performance is going to be better with the 12Gb SAS3 drives

Hmm, so the hardware connection is the same between the two? What about this server:

PROVANTAGE: HPE P16696-B21 HPE Proliant DL325 Gen10 AMD EPYC 7402P 24-Core 64GB 8SFF P408i-A SAS 800W 3-Year

It says: "SAS" in the title but also "The embedded SATA HPE Smart Array S100i Controller"

That one I'm not so sure about. It mentions the P408i in the product name, but not in the specs. If it does come with the 408i, then it will support SAS or SATA, but the "embedded S100i" is a software raid (so Windows only probably), and SATA only.
