HP 3PAR SAS SSD's & HP Server no controller found

Good afternoon all!

Im having a weird issiue with some disks i bought on ebay recently. Picked up some 1.9tb SAS Samsung drives (HP branded). Ive tried this on two Gen10 360s with p408i's and they hang on boot for hours. Once it does boot it shows there is no controller attached, ive never seen this before. Any reason why? Even if there was a firmware problem, shouldn't i still still a controller?

I think ive worked out I cant format these to 512 with a HP controller so will need to throw into another machine

User your HBA card like H240 on IT Mode (Non Raid) then Format it to 512 with sg_format. Here the tutorial :
