For what it's worth, these are SATA 3 (6Gbps) SSDs in an M.2 form factor (HP part number 777259-002). The carrier board is simply a SATA to M.2 bridge and not an NVMe interface.
For a cheaper price is isn't a bad deal if you get the SSD only at around 50 or less.
I would pick NVMe drives of higher capacity and a HyperX card from Asus though, unless your M.2 slot only takes SATA devices. Or a similar multi-NVMe carrier card from some other vendor.
