I'm looking for some opinions on Hitachi Enterprise drive versions.
I bought 24 Hitachi 7K4000 hard drives, HUS724030ALE641 3 TB, from Goharddrive on eBay. They were supposed to be new OEM but when they arrived it looks like they have 20 K plus hours.
They have offered to replace them with 7K3000, HUA723030ALA640 3TB, drives that are new dated 2015 plus offer me a $10 credit per drive.
The offer sounds reasonable but I am having difficulty finding any information on the Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 HDDs. Storagereview.com lists them at 20 megs slower read but I can't find any I/O meter tests or other performance information.
Any thoughts on whether or not these drives are comparable would be appreciated.
