HITACHI AMS 2100 RKAK

Hi Guys

I need advise on this relic I have come across....proper old testament.

I have this Hitachi AMS 2100 RKAK in for a data recovery. The Power supply is indicating that the batteries have failed. Going to replace that. My question is with regards to the ENC Unit RKAK.... The alarm light is red.... Is this most likely due to the fact that power supply is in need of battery changes? or is it also the ENC Units that need to be replace?
