I recently bought a few of these drives HGST 12TB HDD HUH721212AL4200 7200 RPM SAS 12Gb/s 4Kn 3.5-Inch Hard Desk Drive | eBay and now going through to make sure they are good to go. When i tried to run a long test i was met with this error "Long (extended) offline self test failed [unsupported field in scsi command]". The same happened for every single drive. So that led me into looking deeper into the drives and they appear to have a different firmware than what one would expect of the 4200 so I am guessing they have a specific vendor firmware, my guess is Dell EMC.
Here is the smart output.
Is it possible to flash this to a generic firmware that would be used for HUH721212AL4200?
