I purchased a netshelter CX 38U rack and it got damaged during shipping. Is there any way to repair this? It's still at the freight company's warehouse. I need to make a decision as to whether I want to get it home or not ASAP.

Looks like some MDF that could be replaced, and you can get a new caster kit if the one is bent too badly
NetShelter SX / SV / VL Swivel Caster Kit (Qty 4) - APC - United States

Surprised it has wood on the bottom however vs mounting the caster to the steel. I don't have a CX so can't confirm first hand knowledge, hopefully someone else does.

Looks like it should have been sent on a shock pallet too if it was new. http://www.apc.com/salestools/JKUR-7Q8SQ6/JKUR-7Q8SQ6_R3_EN.pdf

Personally I wouldn't accept it w/o getting$ to offset the damage from soemoene

The seller is working with the freight company and they have agreed to pay for repairs but I want to make sure it can be repaired before I accept it.

It's a used rack. There is no other damage. The seller is working with the freight company and there is no other damage. The seller had reached out to the reseller he originally purchased the rack from to see if the base can be replaced.

Yeah I would plate that. Attach the castor to the plate and the plate to the cabinet.

Castor to plate I would weld. Plate to cabinet use adhesive and some form of mechanical means, I'd have to see the inside first.

It looks like it was upright in truck ,and when they tried to roll it out it fell in the crack and snapped the wheel off.. we all know what happens to the screws and joints when dealing with MDF though..it looks like it happened before (holes drilled next to attached wheel). I personally would refuse it..unless of course "They made me an offer , I couldn't refuse" ;)

Thanks for all your input. I have decided to go ahead and accept the rack. Once it's delivered, as long as there are no other issues other than the sheared off wheel, I think it's worth it for the price I paid. I should know more about the repair options this week.

The seller disappeared. Haven't been able to reach him by phone or eBay messages. Opened a case with eBay.
