Heavily consolidating my systems

Problem is: where do I start? Should I just consider parting out the Better Retro Rig and one of the backup rigs? (5950X, C8DH, Vega FE, 64GB 3733 CL17 B-Die)

Getting money for them is nice, but the space I'll free even more so.

Where you start - defining what you actually need. As in, the storage (both capacity and performance) should first be fairly easy, then memory, then compute.
My guess is one well-spec box should be able to meet your needs, except for redundancy.

... and maybe backups (depending on strategy). Most probably you don't need redundancy but only you know.

I have redundancy (backup rig #2) for redundancy (the VR rig or main rig)

What is this all about? A mystery thread? Do we need to guess what your current situation is, what you want to achieve (apart from consolidation) and what the boundary conditions are? I am puzzled.

A lack of space, that's the story. That and me not using both rigs in question.

Either way I ended up parting out the better retro rig.
