I wasn't certain what VSL to download when I received my ioDrive with firmware 6.0.0.107006. I thought it may be helpful to compile a list of firmware revisions.

fusion_3.2.10-20150212.fff (Windows, 3.2.10)
FPGA 7.1.17.116786

fusion_3.2.8-20140508.fff (Windows, 3.2.8)
FPGA 7.1.17.116786

fusion_3.2.6-20131003.fff (Windows, 3.2.6)
FPGA 7.1.15.110356

fusion_3.2.4-20130604.fff (Windows, 3.2.4)
FPGA 7.1.15.110356

fusion_3.2.3-20130605.fff (Windows, 3.2.3)
FPGA 7.1.13.109322

fusion_3.2.2-20121025.fff (Windows, 3.2.2)
FPGA 7.1.13.109322

iodrive_108609.fff (ESXi-5.0, 3.1.1)

As a lot of us have experienced here, you may receive unusual errors if your firmware doesn't match your VSL. FIO made a few significant firmware changes around 2.3 and 3.1 and your drivers might not even load. My experience is limited, but installing early VSLs (as early as 2.1) should allow you to at least learn what firmware revision you are on and determine an upgrade path.

Great info. I went back 1 version and VSL didn't work.

I'll try going way back :)
