Please keep in mind the Adaptec 71605 controller is a SATA/SAS 6 Gbps controller, so you won't see full lane saturation on any one single device with the 12 Gbps SSDs but maybe you could theoretically with 16 devices? These controllers were just cheap and highly available alternatives to more fussier HBAs that usually required some degree of cross-flashing. I would highly recommend strapping a 40mm fan to the heatsink. It doesn't even have to be an exceptionally sturdy one, just get some airflow over it.
