@CaptainPoundSand just a question.. when you were using the 9400-16i card, did you find the PCIe 3.0 x8 a bottleneck for the 16x 12Gbps SAS lanes? Seems like you could hit 7.8GB/sec pretty easily with 16x SAS-3 SSDs?

Well - I Was running 2x 9400-16i cards - I think with 20x SAS3 - I was maxing about 8.5GB/second - but I was running freenas raidz3 - so I think that may have had taken my performance numbers down.
