Continuing the cleanup of the lab (basement) to raise funds for new projects, this time it's Infiniband switches and cables.

Topspin 120, $175 + shipping
Silverstorm 9024, $155 + shipping
Gore CX4 to CX4 8m cable, $15 each + shipping
Mellanox QSFP to CX4 3m cable, $35 each + shipping

I'll be listing Mellanox ConnectX-2 Infiniband cards in another post.

Both switches are older generation SDR gear, but still very useful in the lab. Here's the typical performance between a couple of 2012R2 servers implementing Mellanox cards running IPoIB through one of these switches ...

Yup, that's over 930 MB/s, well over 8x better than regular Gigabit Ethernet.

Topspin 120 (a.k.a Cisco 7000) 24 Port CX4 Infiniband Switch
The unit is in nice shape, with a couple of scratches here and there but nothing major.
The unit comes with redundant power supplies and serial cable for CLI purposes. Other than setting up the management IP address, I have not ventured into the CLI. I have used this switch for simple "plug and play" connectivity. The unit can be managed over ethernet, but will require an older browser.
It only has 3/4 of the rack mount hardware present ! The left side has front and rear brackets but the right side only has the front bracket, so it's a "3 wheels on my wagon" kind of mount ... good enough for a lab though.

To the best of my knowledge, this switch does not have a Subnet Manager, I used Open SM on Windows 2012R2 OS

All 24 ports tested and verified with IOMeter.

I'm asking $175 + shipping for the Topspin 120, and let's keep this simple and limit it to the contiguous 48 states.
The shipping box will be 26"x26"x10" and the weight is about 30lbs. I've looked online at FedEx, UPS and USPS and FedEx will be the cheapest.
You can use the FedEx Online Shipping Calculator to determine the actual rate. I'm in Portland OR (97229) and shipping to the East Coast will be >$60.

Silverstorm 9024 (a.k.a QLogic 9024) 24 Port CX4 Infiniband Switch
The unit is also in nice shape, with a couple of scratches here and there but nothing major.
The unit comes with redundant power supplies. I'll also include a home made modular serial cable that I needed to be able to set the management IP as it was unknown when I received the unit.
This switch can be managed via a browser.

I recently upgraded firmware that has a Subnet Manager built in, but I was not successful in getting it setup, and currently have it disabled, and used OpenSM on the Windows 2012R2 OS. Someone with a little more knowledge and patience may have better luck than me.

All 24 ports tested and verified with IOMeter.

The shipping box will be 36"x24"x8" and the weight is about 33lbs. I've looked online at FedEx, UPS and USPS and FedEx will be the cheapest.

Cables
I've got a few CX4 to CX4 cables (for older SDR IB cards) as well as a few CX4 to QSFP cables (for newer DDR/QDR cards).

Gore IBN5000-8 CX4 to CX4 cable, 8 meters
I have 3 of these, all are new and unused, one was opened for pictures ..

I'm asking $15 each + shipping for the CX4 -CX4 cables. USPS Flat Rate shipping (Domestic) will be the most cost effective I think. I can probably get all 3 cables into a Medium box which would cost $12.35.

Mellanox MC1204128-003 QSFP to CX4 cable. 3 meters
I have 10 of these, 7 are new and unused, 3 used for basic testing.

I'm asking $35 each + shipping for the QSFP -CX4 cables. I can probably get all 10 cables into a Large USPS flat rate box (Domestic) which is $17.45.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions ..
