FS: Samsung 32GB DDR4 stick

Bought new and couldn't get it to play well with my Xeon D as a single stick last summer. I believe the memory is fine but will take a return if it doesn't check out. Asking $225 OBO. Prefer to ship domestically only.

Good to know - It's my first server build and between esoteric POST issues and being new to server hardware I wasn't sure if it would have worked given more tweaking. Sounds like I might get more hits listing it on Ebay since Xeon D is pretty popular with the STH community.

I think any kind of server is pretty popular here. Its maybe the 1 module which keeps ppl off; usually those are used in pairs

And if you wanted max memory I think for Xeon-d you can only use 2R dimms.
2 channels and upto 4 ranks per channel so that's 2 x 2R = 4

LRDIMM = 8+. If you're using LR you're at 2DPC or 3DPC.

Completely off topic in regards to the sale but for v3 I was mostly using 32gb lrdimm 4R 2133mhz but now it's freely available for v4 it's now 32gb rdimm 2R 2400mhz.

This is assuming 16x32gb for total 512gb, beyond that and depending on total capacity required you have to think if 64gb or populating the 3rd channel makes more sense.

Anyway the dimm in question should be good for any E5 install
