Hey all! I've kind of come to the realization that A) I'm kind of a hoarder (this group doesn't help that!) B) I tend to have too many projects going on to get everything that I want to get done, done. So, it's time to purge some things and consolidate.

All systems or mobo/cpu/RAM combos have been tested with at minimum 1 hour or CPU Stress and Prime95, as well as another hour of Memtest86. Heatsinks will be removed for shipping (either shipped separate or same box, depending on the heatsink). All BIOS have been reset to default (prior to testing), passwords cleared.

Open to trades. I'm currently looking for;

* a few 12-24 port 1\10gbe switches (ICX6450-24P, etc)
* DDR4 3200 16gb sticks
* pFsense build hardware (T620 Plus, low power 1U machine, etc)
* a few pairs of 500gb-1TB Nvme's
* A few 6-10TB CMR drives (preferably Ultrastar or other enterprise class)
* 1U/2U 120v PDU w/ branch level meter/switching
* Decent office chair


SOLD Intel S2600CP4 / 1x E5-2603v2 / 4x4gb DDR3 1600 ECC - $250
This board has next to no use on it. According to the drives that I pulled out that were original to the system, 3.5 years on it. Not a spec of dust on this or in the HS fins.

HPE DL80 Gen9 LFF - 2x E5-2609v3 / 80GB RAM - $500
This was my last Unraid server. Some things to note about this. I purchased and installed the GPU enablement kit for this (P/N 765518-B21) however I never got around to using it as the 1050Ti that I bought specifically for this box was DOA. The GPU kit allows you to use a full length, full height x16 GPU in the machine. The enablement kit comes with a PCI-E power splitter that will not work with the existing 550w PSU. As the 1050Ti didn't need external power, this wasn't an issue. The mainboard does have a 6pin that you could split off, conveniently right at the GPU slot. The other bracket to convert it back to a vertical, non-riser slot is included.

I "modified" the fans as even in my basement, this was louder than I wanted it to be. This was done by routing the fan signals in to a Arduino Nano, filtering them, modifying the output and then shipping them back out (this is the purple and blue wires that run along the rear of the fans in the pics). The Nano is powered by the USB port under the GPU bay. It still gives plenty of cooling at idle/low power usage, but ramps the fans to full power at full load. I can keep it as it is, or I'm happy to convert it back to stock. The conversion is simply taking the Arduino out and soldering the fan wires back together, instead of being intercepted by the Arduino. The only "odd" thing is that if the server has power, but is off, one of the fans runs at 100%. I believe it's a bug in my code, but never cared about it as it was never powered off. This setup also saves a considerable amount of power, now idling at ~130w instead of the ~200 that it did stock.

Also, I had intentions of adding a 3rd backplane to the top row of the LFF bays. It can be done, though you'll only be able to use 3 of the 4 bays as there is no great way to replace the power/ID/USB insert. Currently it has 3 vent inserts in the top row, 1 caddy and 3 blanks in the 2nd row and 4 blanks in the 3rd row. I have 10 more caddies that are included with this to fully populate every bay (including the top row, should you add a third backplane). I'm also including (4) 3.5 > 2.5" drive bay adapters.

The machine has all of the cooling guides and everything is complete to my knowledge, other than the missing PCI slot covers (I had a few HBA's and 10gbe cards in this). I don't think I have any half height covers that I can fill them in with.

Absolutely a great box and I really hate to sell it, but with a new build, I just can't justify a use for this. I'm going to miss iLO for sure, it blows iDRAC away!

DVD/Floppy COMBO?! - $10
[Untested!] A bit of a fun one here, something I've never come across before. This is a slim tray load DVD w/ IDE interface, coupled to a USB interface 3.5" floppy drive in a 5.25" form factor. Includes the USB and power cables. This is untested as I would as soon throw it in the trash than to put a machine together with an IDE interface to test the DVD drive. The floppy side would be easier to test, if I still owned a floppy disk to test it with. This is really being thrown up for sale as it's a unique thing that I thought someone might be interested in.

Some of this is going to be more of a generic info, if you're interested let me know and I'll get more info. I do not have the rails for any of these, unless otherwise noted. I would prefer local pickup on these. I don't know that I can ship them in a cost effective way with the packaging that would need to be purchased. I'm open to options though.

Chenbro 2U - I believe this is a RM21706. 6x 3.5" hotswap w/ backplane, 1x 5.25", 1x fixed 3.5", E-ATX. Has a PSU.

Intel SC5400BRP 5U - 6x 3.5" hotswap SATA/SAS backplane, 3x 5.25" (I believe I only have 4 of the 6 quick rails for the 5.25". 2x830w redundant PSU. It has all of the shields for the S5000PSL board listed above. I am the pics you are searching for.

SOLD Supermicro SC822TQ-400LPB 2U - 6x 3.5" hotswap SATA/SAS w/ backplane, 1x5.25", 1x fixed 3.5", 1x fixed slim bay for optical. E-ATX. 400W PSU. Nearly a functionally identical chassis to the Chenbro above.

That combo CD/Floppy looks like it might be from an older Dell server. There seems to be a part number on the top sticker, but I can't make it out.

The part numbers on the top sticker are "5214613" and "ERSI7141089" , but neither of those return any useful Google results.

There is another part number, T0049301 which is actually a Gateway interface adapter. It adapts from the small high density connector on the back of the slim optical drive to IDE interface. The drive came out of a old non-big-name server. It was part of that system from above with the SC5400 chassis and S5000 Intel board.

Interesting. I wonder if Gateway ever made servers. Looks like it will need special cables for power and maybe even the interface to work.

As noted in the post, I have them and they're included.

The optical is standard IDE interface. Floppy is a proprietary 4 pin (looks about like a JST XHP connector) to USB cable. Power is another JSP style to 4 pin molex connector. Both of those cables are included.

Nice !!
This inspires me to make my ML30g10 a more congenial office-mate.
