FreeNAS install failed

I'm giving FreeNAS another chance and can get it to install on bare metal.

For my testing I'm using an X8 fat twin, each node currently has:
2x 300GB S3500 SSDs.
The HBA is the intel chipset in AHCI

I think its a good setup for testing

however when I booted from a install disk I clicked through and when I try to install to the 32GB samsung fit or the 16GB lexar they give the following:

2+0 records in
2+0 records out
2097152 bytes transferred in .0141583 secs (speed)
dd: /dev/da0: end of device
3+0 records in
3+0 records out
2097152 bytes transferred in .0141583 secs (speed)
da0 created
da0p1 added
da0p2 added
gmirror: invalid class name.
da0 destroyed
da0p1 added
da0p2 added
active set on da0
cannot create freenas-boot': pool already exists
the freenas installation on da0 ha failed. please press enter to continue....

then it goes back to the first menu asking if i want to install or drop to shell ETC

Before I started I used a windows PC to run diskpart "clean" and figured that was good.
Turns out they were not FULLY blank, there were still remnants of an old test I was doing on these 2TB drives.

Pulled all the drives and SSDs and I was able to install to USB first try. I guess the issue was the installer seeing old data.

Yeah that’s not uncommon, I usually boot a Linux live cd and gpart wipe the partition table. Glad to hear you got it up and running
