For those who did not see, FreeNAS Corral (the new name of FreeNAS 10) was released early this morning. We have a bunch of content in the pipeline so I figured it would be a good idea to get an index in the forums.

Just as a FYI - I have had one system that hangs during the boot process. Trying a few bits out. Good for VM testing. May want to wait a bit before moving over a production system.

Our launch piece should be live in 2 minutes. Added it to the list.

If you are starting fresh, I am really liking the upgrade.

I'm liking the upgrade a lot too. Albeit I'm on using it strictly for VM storage with no plans to use VMs/Dockers on the same server.

FYI, if your using jails on an older build they will be DOA after upgrade. I'm holding off due to some Jails I'll need to manually backup configs for first.

Jails were very rarely used from what I understand on an overall population of FreeNAS 9.10 installs.

I think the vision is that VMs and Docker will be more useful to folks than the old Jails/ Plugin System if you want to get big pieces of functionality going.

My first foray into FreeNAS. All my previous experience is a single node white box free ESXi hypervisor. So I installed 6.5 on a SC216 box X8DTU 2x L5630. Applied all the latest VMware updates from SSH. I tried to setup Corral. VMware 6.5 Web client kept crashing. Finally was successful in selecting version 10 type VM ( 5.5) and install went thru'. Fired up the VMware thick client, and was able pass thru H310 and the disks attached without any issues.
FreeNAS Web GUI says the CPU does not support virtualization when I select VMs / Docker. Not sure nesting within VMware, VM version or something else is the reason.

I had a similar error when I put a FreeNAS Corral VM on Proxmox / KVM.

Nested virtualization and bhyve is not the best supported configuration at this time. I would imagine if you ran FreeNAS on that same system bare metal, the bhyve virtualization will work.

Should just have to pass-thru/enable in web client the proc features. I can post a screenshot but I know I had bhyvve virt working nested at one point during beta.
