Can anyone with access to the current firmware package for any of the following models send me a pm? I'm considering buying a couple of machines in the next week or two and BIOS availability is going to impact my selection.

Gen8: DL160, DL360e, DL360p, DL380e, DL380p

Thanks!

Have you checked into this on HP ( not HPE) lot of the older stuff is on there. Downside is you need the specific SPxxxxx to drill down.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/
Thanks! I found a bit of info on /r/homelab too and started looking on the HPE linux download ftp site, system firmware packages are readily available if you know the system code for each server.

In case anyone needs to go fishing on the ftp site in the future:
HP Software Delivery Repository

DL160 Gen8 == J03
DL360e / DL380e Gen8 == P73
DL360p / DL360p SE Gen8 == P71
DL380p Gen8 == P70

Also, I'm really confused right now. HPE's site makes a really big deal out of making you think you need a contract to download BIOS images but once you're logged in with a free account they're freely available.

Scare tactics really.
And these are such common systems I am sure sourcing the files would never really be difficult
