No they are SAS drives.

First big upgrade in a while. I'm upgrading one of my two UnRAID servers from Seagate 8TB SMR drives to WD Gold 10TB drives. Nothing against the Seagate SMR drives, they work WONDERFULLY in a non-striped array such as UnRAID. However, it was time for a space upgrade and I got a pretty solid deal on the Golds ($325 each with WD Education Store Discount). Also, I like that 5 year warranty . So yea, there will be some 8TB SMR drives up for sale in the coming weeks.
