Know of any network content filters to recommend for an entire home/family instead of per device content filters?

    opendns home vip
    Home Internet Security | OpenDNS

You can use the basic homeoffer for free, only lacks logging and whitelisting.
Home vip costs only $20 pr.year though :)
been using it for several years here, never had any issues

I started using Untangle for the kids WiFi; I run it in a VM on the kids VLAN. It's not free, but it has a very admin friendly web UI, it works well, does SSLstrip, and I decided that at $50 a year, I am not going to waste my time endlessly cobbling together mediocre solutions myself.
