Just got done building a new ESXi box based on the Supermicro X9SRL-F and I was wondering if my speeds look ok to anyone else that's done a similar build?
  • ESXi 6.7 U1 with all updates
  • XPEnology setup is based on jun's 1.3b loader with Synology 6.2-23739
  • X9SRL-F
  • 64g ECC DDR3L
  • 8 x 3TB HGST and Hitachi HDD's
  • Mellanox ConnectX-3
The XPEnology virtual machine is using VMXNET3 drivers and is directly connected to my PC via DAS cable.
Mellanox cards are in ethernet mode and are showing 40G connection on ESXi and windows.

I would say it looks good for a bunch of spinners;)
But if in doubt then compare against a local speed test...
